Before Deleting Your Account

Before you delete your account, consider the following:

• Your account is closed and your subscription cancelled straight away
• You'll lose access to all conversations, messages, and files
• Your data is kept for 30 days, then permanently removed
• We email you a link to restore the account before then
• After 30 days, deletion can't be undone

If you're unsure, you can cancel your subscription instead. Cancelling stops the billing without deleting your account, so nothing is lost while you decide.

What Gets Deleted

30 days after you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

• Your account profile and settings
• All conversations and messages
• All shared files and media
• Client profiles and information
• Projects and widget settings
• All account activity history

Chat messages and files older than 180 days are removed automatically in any case. Make sure you've exported anything you need before deleting your account.

How to Delete Your Account

To delete your Squarepaste account:

1. Log in to your Squarepaste dashboard
2. Go to Settings → Delete Account
3. Click "Delete account"
4. Read the message carefully
5. Click "Delete Account" to confirm

Once confirmed, you're signed out and can't log in again unless you restore the account. To restore it, use the link in the email we send you, within 30 days.

Active Subscriptions

If you have an active subscription:

• Your subscription will be cancelled immediately
• You won't be charged for future billing cycles
• No refunds will be issued for the current billing period
• You'll lose access to Squarepaste features immediately upon deletion

If you want to keep your data but stop paying, consider cancelling your subscription instead of deleting your account.

After Cancelling

If you cancel your subscription instead of deleting your account:

• Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have paid for
• Your account itself is not deleted, so you can subscribe again later
• You won't be charged again unless you do

Export anything you want to keep while you still have access, using the steps below.

Exporting Your Chats

Before deleting your account, export the conversations you want to keep:

1. Log in to your Squarepaste dashboard
2. Open the project whose chat you want to keep
3. Go to the Actions tab and click "Chat transcript"
4. Save the file that downloads

The export is a ZIP file containing the conversation as a web page you can open in any browser, along with the files and voice messages shared in it. Each project is exported separately, so repeat this for every project you want to keep a copy of.

Important: After 30 days, account deletion is permanent. If you're unsure, contact support before proceeding. We're here to help with any questions or concerns.
