Email notifications
Squarepaste can email you when a member of a project sends a message, adds a task or replies to one, either as it happens or as one daily summary. This helps you stay on top of client communications even when you're not actively checking the dashboard.
Choosing Your Email Alerts
Email alerts are set for each project:
- Log in to your Squarepaste dashboard and open the project
- Go to the Actions tab and click Project – the Edit project panel opens
- Under Notifications, open Email alerts and choose Every message, Daily summary or Off
- Click "Save changes"
You can make the same choice from the Settings tab of the Squarepaste widget while you are signed in as the designer.
What You'll Receive
With Every message, you'll receive an email when:
- A member sends a message, including files and voice notes
- A member adds a task
- A member replies to a task
With Daily summary, those arrive together in one email a day instead, along with any payments, and only on days when something happened. With Off, Squarepaste doesn't email you about the project at all.
Your members choose their own email alerts, the same three options, from the Settings tab of the widget, and every email Squarepaste sends them has an unsubscribe link. When you request payment for a task, the people you pick are always emailed, whatever their alerts say.
Notification Content
Each email to you includes:
- The name of the person who wrote
- Which project it is about
- The full message, with any attachments
- A "View in Squarepaste" button that opens the project in your dashboard
You can reply directly to the email to answer in the chat.
Managing Notifications
You can manage your notification preferences:
- Change your email alerts for each project at any time
- Emails go to the address on your Squarepaste account, which you can change under Settings → Profile
- Check your spam folder if you're not receiving notifications
Tip: Email notifications help you respond to clients quickly, which improves client satisfaction. Replying straight from the email is the fastest way to keep a conversation moving.
