Stealth mode

Stealth mode hides the Squarepaste chat button until the bottom-right corner of the page is hovered. The button stays out of the way while you work on the site, and is one move of the mouse away when you need it.

How It Works

When stealth mode is enabled:

  • The chat button is hidden by default
  • When the mouse moves into the bottom-right corner, the button slides into view
  • The button stays visible while the mouse is in the corner or over the button
  • When the mouse leaves the corner, the button slides out of view again

Enabling Stealth Mode

Stealth mode is set for each project, from the widget itself, and only the designer can change it:

  1. Log in to Squarespace and open the site in the editor; the Squarepaste widget appears in the bottom-right corner
  2. Open the widget. If you are not signed in yet, click "I'm the designer – sign in"
  3. Go to the Settings tab
  4. Turn on "Stealth mode" – it saves as soon as you switch it

When to Use Stealth Mode

Stealth mode is ideal when:

  • The chat button gets in the way of what you are editing in the bottom-right corner
  • You want to see the page as it will look, without the button on top of it
  • You want Squarepaste available but not prominently displayed

Accessibility

Even with stealth mode on, the widget works as normal:

  • Hover the bottom-right corner and click the button to open it
  • Chat, Tasks, Files and Settings all work as usual
  • Your clients can also reach the project from its chat page, which stealth mode does not affect

Tip: Stealth mode gives you the best of both worlds: a clear view of the page and Squarepaste one move away. You can turn it on or off at any time in the widget's Settings tab.
